Время, за которое количество определенной мРНК, способной гибридизироваться с соответствущим ДНК-зондом, уменьшается в два раза; Х.в.п. сравнимо с функциональным временем полужизни, но химический распад происходит медленнее, чем функциональная инактивация мРНК.
